Since 2020, Mr. Johnston has served as is chairman of the board. Drawing on the deep knowledge learned during his tenure as president of the company and its U.S. subsidiaries from 2011 to 2022, and as chief executive officer from 2011 to May 2024, Mr. Johnston facilitates and guides the business of the board and supports management by maintaining effective relationships with insurance agencies, investors, shareholders and other industry and business organizations. He also works with the president and chief executive officer and the board to establish long-range strategies. From 2008 to 2011, he was chief financial officer, senior vice president and secretary for both the company and The Cincinnati Insurance Company, and treasurer of the company.
