Cincinnati Financial Corporation Holds Shareholders' and Directors' Meetings

CINCINNATI, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Cincinnati Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: CINF) -- At the annual shareholders' meeting on April 7, 2001, Cincinnati Financial shareholders chose two new directors and reelected four directors to the Company's Board.

New to the Board are John M. Shepherd, serving for a three-year term and joining the audit committee; and W. Rodney McMullen, serving for a one-year term and joining the investment committee.

Shepherd is filling the seat vacated by William R. Johnson, who did not stand for reelection. He is chairman and chief executive officer of The Shepherd Chemical Company and director and secretary of The Shepherd Color Company, both based in Cincinnati. He holds a bachelor's degree in ceramic engineering and a master's degree in business administration from The Ohio State University. He is a member of The Ohio State University Foundation Board and he is a trustee of the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges.

McMullen, who is filling a new seat on the 15-member board, is executive vice president of strategy, planning and finance for The Kroger Co., based in Cincinnati. He holds bachelor's degrees in accounting and finance and a master's degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky, Lexington. He is a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, the Xavier University Business Advisory Council and GlobalNetXchange.

Reelected for three-year terms on the Board of Directors were Michael Brown, president and general manager of Cincinnati Bengals, Inc.; John E. Field, chairman of Wallace & Turner, Inc. (insurance agency); Robert C. Schiff, chairman of Schiff, Kreidler-Shell, Inc. (insurance agency); and Alan R. Weiler, chairman and chief executive officer of Archer-Meek-Weiler Agency, Inc. (insurance agency). In addition, the Board named Jackson H. Randolph director emeritus. Randolph, chairman emeritus of Cinergy Corporation, retired from Cincinnati Financial's Board in November after nearly 15 years of service.
